This Woman Just Won’t Stop Saying ‘Floppy Diskette’ [Video]

Here’s an edit of an old computer tutorial video featuring a woman that just can’t stop saying ‘floppy diskette’ over and over again, along with a few variations such as ‘disk drive,’ ‘system disk,’ and ‘bootup disk.’ Boring video? Not really. It’s actually more entertaining than it sounds.

Voyager 1 May Be Glitching

Somethingโ€™s up with the data coming from Voyager 1. NASA says such an unexplained issue is not unexpected given the craftโ€™s age and circumstances.

Launched in 1977, Voyager entered the interstellar plasma in 2015. That made it the first man-made object to leave our solar system and no longer be significantly affected by the sun.

The problem is with the attitude articulation and control system (AACS), which keeps its orientation steady. Thatโ€™s necessary to point its antenna at Earth to transmit data.

As far as NASA engineers can tell, the AACS is still working (as shown by the fact they are still receiving signals at the expected strength). However, the telemetry data that shows what the AACS is doing is amiss: โ€œFor instance, the data may appear to be randomly generated, or does not reflect any possible state the AACS could be in.โ€

Whatโ€™s likely good news is that Voyager 1 hasnโ€™t gone into a safe mode thatโ€™s triggered by fault protection systems. It may take some time to figure out the problem and whether it will have long-term effects. One challenge is that with the craft 14.5 billion miles away, it takes almost two days to send a message to it and receive a reply.

NASA notes itโ€™s hardly a surprise that such problems arise. Not only is the craft long past the lifespan for which it was built, but itโ€™s now subject to extreme levels of radiation.

How Real Is It? – Toxicologist Rates 9 Poison Scenes in Movies and TV [Video]

From Insider:

Medical toxicologist Dr. Cyrus Rangan rates nine poison scenes in movies and television, such as “The Princess Bride,” for realism. He discusses the accuracy of poison scenes in “The Princess Bride” (1987); “Snakes on a Plane” (2006), featuring Samuel L. Jackson; and “Casino Royale” (2006), with Daniel Craig. He also comments on toxicity, immunity, and antivenom in “Game of Thrones” (2017); “Breaking Bad” (2009), starring Bryan Cranston; and “The Hunger Games” (2012), with Jennifer Lawrence. Rangan analyzes the medical treatments displayed in “Friends” (1997); “Captain America: The First Avenger” (2011), starring Chris Evans; and “After Earth” (2013), with Will Smith. Rangan is the assistant medical director for the California Poison Control System, where he’s worked for the past 20 years. He is also a medical toxicology consultant for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The Winchesters Gets a Trailer That Breaks the Supernatural Storyline? [Video]

I’m a massive fan of Supernatural, and I have a few issues about this trailer. Watch it first below:

https://youtu.be/cCL_vwl4XUw

Ok, now that you’re done, if you’ve ever watched the first series (2005-2020), you know that John did not even know that Mary, his wife, was a hunter before she was killed. A few seasons later, Sam and Dean go back in time, and only at that point does John learn that his wife kills demons for a living. However, the memory does not last because Michael erases their memory after Sam and Dean come back to the present.

I don’t know about you guys, but something just doesn’t feel right with this trailer.

Of course, this is a universe that deals with magic, so it would be easy to find a way to make all of this work in canon.
