Star Wars remake week: Star Wars in 3 Minutes… With Action Figures!

Today’s remake only barely made the cut because it isn’t a full-length remake, rather a three-minute condensed edition. But it does score double on the nostalgia front for combining not only the movie itself, but the range of action figures.

It is only fair to note that this isn’t the cutest abridged version of Star Wars. That belongs to this entry:

The Incorrect Physics of my Little Pony [Video]

Yep, you read that headline right. Here’s a 10-minute video of a student explaning to his class why the physics in My little Pony is totally wrong.

Yes, it has happened. “Physical Impossibilities in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.” For our project, we had to find three scenes from any movie or TV show and use physics to find out if something was or wasn’t possible. I got 100% on it.

Awesome 8-Bit-Style Music Video: We Come Together [VIDEO]

We’ve posted many 8-bit-style music videos on [GAS] in the past, but so far, I think this one from South Africa-based band Goldfish wins our “most awesome” award. Check it out:

Star Wars remake week: A New Hope (Lego Remake)

Today’s Star Wars remake is an attempt to film the entire movie using Lego. Unfortunately it appears the artist only made it as far as the Cantina scene, after which only part of each scene have been completed and, as the site’s last update was in 2008, it doesn’t look hopeful that the project will come to fruition.

Still, the project does deserve added geek credit for placing the contact page link under an animated GIF of R2-D2 displaying Leia’s message for Obi-Wan.

Kaydara, the Matrix-Fanfilm [Movie]

Set in the Matrix trilogy’s cyberpunk universe, the new French-directed Kaydara is making waves all over the ‘net. Raphael Hernandez and Savitri Joly-Gonfard ambitiously picked up the story line created by the Wachowskis but added an interesting twist:

Kaydara, a bounty hunter who is living separately from the Human Resistance Group, does not believe in the prophecy of ‘the One.’ He sees this so-called saviour as a threat to the awakening of Man’s self-awareness and considers him an enemy. If their paths cross, Kaydara will not hesitate to confront him.
