In 1995, scientists pointed the Hubble Telescope at an area of the sky near the Big Dipper. The location was apparently empty, and the whole endeavour was risky – what, if anything, was going to show up? But what came back was nothing short of spectacular: an image of over 1,500 galaxies glimmering in a tiny sliver of the universe. Alex Hofeldt helps us understand the scale of this image.

Saying that Wonder Woman is a very important movie for female representation in pop culture is undeniable. She is the first female superhero to get her own movie in more than a decade after all. Because of this, young girls throughout the world have been looking at the character with a very special kind of reverence, and a young lady experienced something truly wonderful while at SDCC this weekend. As she met Gadot, the girl started crying, and the actress said to her: “Now we are friends so there’s no reason to cry anymore. We are together!”
Naturally, the Internet went crazy over the footage, and the mother wrote a tweet explaining how special that moment was for her daughter:

This weekend, Marvel unveiled a new poster for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, featuring all the major players of the movie: The Avengers, the Guardians, and the bad guys. Tis is the first time we all the characters that will be present in the movie in official promo material. Be sure to click on the picture to view it in full size.
Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War will be released on the big screen on May 4, 2018.
