NPB games are known for engaging antics that extend well beyond the play on the field. But what’s to be done in the era of COVID-19, when baseball is played in front of an empty stadium? For many — including Korea’s KBO League and the upcoming shortened MLB season — cardboard cutouts are an attempt to bring something familiar to the otherwise surreal experience.

Japan, on the other hand, is leaning into the surreality. The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks are getting some cheerleading help from a couple of familiar robots. SoftBank’s own Pepper and Spot (of the SoftBank-owned Boston Dynamics) formed the cheering section at a game this week, as the NPB team took on the Rakuten Eagles. The celebration is the first of many, running through the end of the month.

Where to Get the NEW Baby Yoda Cereal

On Star Wars Day (May 4th, 2020,) General Mills, in partnership with Disney/Star Wars, announced they would soon release a cereal based on The Child from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. The company has now revealed that the Baby Yoda cereal will be available this month in a 2-pack version at Sam’s Club for $5.98. The single pack version will then soon follow in mid-August at Walmart stores.

For those who are curious about the cereal, no, they will not taste like frog, they will be made from sweetened corn puffs and will have some marshmallows shaped like Baby Yoda thrown in. Doesn’t sound very delicious to me, but these are targetted to kids, so it stands to reason that they will sugary.

So Many Snacks, So Little Time: A GLORIOUS Gingerbread VENOM Sculpture [Gallery]

We’ve featured Caroline Eriksson‘s amazing gingerbread creations a few times on Geeks are Sexy in the past, but this stunningly detailed gingerbread bust of Venom is her absolute best creation so far! To create the delicious abomination, the artist used a gingerbread clay recipe, which allowed her to sculpt the bust in a traditional way instead of stacking and gluing regular gingerbread cookies like she did with her previous sculptures.

The whole thing is edible, except for the base. She made the drool from isomalt and piping gel, and the symbiote is lightly airbrushed with edible colors. Here is a video and a few extra pics:
