Sir Patrick Stewart’s ‘Making It So: A Memoir’ Beams Down to Bookshelves

Legendary actor Sir Patrick Stewart, best known for his roles in “Star Trek” and the “X-Men” franchise, has just released his memoir titled “Making It So.” The 82-year-old actor, who has declined previous offers to have his life story ghostwritten, decided to take on the challenge during the COVID-19 lockdown in May 2020 when he received an offer from publisher Simon & Schuster.

Stewart’s memoir covers his early life in Yorkshire, England, his career on stage, and his iconic roles in popular film and TV series. Writing the book turned out to be an unexpectedly immersive experience for him since he could fully concentrate on the writing process having more free time than usual during the lockdown. Despite his numerous awards and accolades, including four Emmy nominations and three Olivier Awards, Stewart viewed writing as a new frontier to conquer.
