THINKGEEK IS SHUTTING DOWN: A Trip Down Memory Lane

There are a few things on the web from the late 90s that are still online today, and Thinkgeek is one of them. The online mecca of all things geek was launched in 1999 by andover.net, the owners of Slashdot. Back in 2009, 10 years ago, we had the chance to visit their head office and filmed the whole thing for you guys. Here is the video:

And now they’re merging into their parent company, Gamestop, to form a single entity.

Nope. On July 2nd, 2019, ThinkGeek.com will be moving in with our parent company GameStop. After this move, you will be able to shop a curated selection of unique items historically found on ThinkGeek.com via a ThinkGeek section at GameStop.

Thinkgeek.com will not exist anymore and will redirect to Gamestop’s website.

Since they are shutting down, they also have to liquidate their inventory, hence the awesome sitewide sale where they are offering 50% off on EVERYTHING with promo code MOVINGDAY.
