Artist Adi Shankar, the man behind the animated Castlevania series that will start airing on Netflix later this week, has just announced via a Facebook post that Ubisoft asked him to create an anime series of Assassin’s Creed! Please note that the art featured above is by artist doubleleaf and not the work of Adi Shankar himself.

I’m happy to let you guys know that I’ve selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.

Unfortunately, these are the only details we have for now and have no idea where or when the series will air, but considering how talented this guy is, we have high hopes that everything will turn out just fine.
