Filmmaker Reed Shusterman recently sent me his latest short film featuring an overbearing mother struggling to parent her daughter, Amber Lynn, who keeps disappearing to rule a magical land.
Goblin Queen is Narnia from the mother’s perspective—how do you parent a child who keeps disappearing to rule a magical world? Winona tries to keep Amber Lynn safe, but when a goblin follows her home, Winona must confront the reality of who her daughter has become. We’ve got two strong female characters, a knight in shining armor, a goblin, and a big sword fight (choreographed by the sword fighting team that did Master and Commander and Hook) all in under 11 minutes.
