True story: I started flossing twice a day after getting a root canal around six years ago, and I’ve stopped getting cavities from that point. Trust me, if you ever get a root canal intervention that goes wrong (a drill that goes into a tooth nerve without it being frozen,) you’ll start flossing very attentively from that point. I still have nightmares about when this happened, and it was about 10 years ago.
The bleeding also stops fairly quickly. :)
