It was about time! People have been asking for an offline viewing option on Netflix for years, and starting today, the company has finally started offering the feature for the smartphone and tablet version of their app.
While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited. Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection.
Not all movies and TV shows will be available while offline, but those that are, including many of Netflix’s original series, will include a tiny button that indicates “Download now to watch offline later.” The service plans to add more titles that support “offline viewing” in the near future.
