Sony says more than 40 games will get immediate benefits from the PS4 Pro that launches next week. The precise details of each title’s improvements aren’t available yet.
As well as improvements to the processors, the Pro console will support increased frame rates, 4K resolution and HDR (which improves both contrast and the range of colors, improving overall detail.) While the effects will vary from title to title, in most cases the improvements should be noticeable even on a “normal” HD set.
Sony says some titles will require a software update, but more recent releases came with the support already baked in. It says another 45 titles will be ready for the PS4 Pro by the end of the year, while from next year all titles released by Sony itself will have the support.
