As you’ll struggle to escape, tomorrow is the date on which Marty McFly arrives in “the future.” Here’s our guide to some of the ways you can celebrate by watching Back to the Future Part II.
If you don’t already have the DVD or Blu-ray, you can buy it from Amazon as either a single movie or part of the trilogy, though the costs and feasibility of getting it for tomorrow will depend on whether you have Prime membership and where you live.
Being that we’re now in 2015, you can also get it via streaming options:
- Amazon has it available to rent (or buy) while it’s among the free streaming options with Prime membership.
- With Netflix, you won’t be able to watch it if your device shows an IP address located in the US, Canada or the UK. You will be able to watch it if your device shows an IP address located it in Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico or Switzerland.
- For other streaming options in the US, you can rent it for from iTunes, Vudu or PlayStation Store, or buy it as a digital purchase for from iTunes or Vudu. With all of these stores and with Amazon, it costs $2.99 to rent and $9.99 to buy, though Amazon also has an HD option at $3.99/$12.99.
For those of you who want to party like its 1985 (or even 1955) and watch on good old-fashioned TV, you may be in luck as a few stations have had the sense to schedule it tomorrow:
- In the US, ESQTV (Esquire Network) has two airings at 2.30pm and 10pm, while Discover Family Channel has it at 9.24pm. In both cases it’s part of a trilogy marathon.
- In the UK, ITV 2 has it at 6.50pm. It’s showing the full trilogy, though it’s broken up by a special show about the franchise (hosted by Keith Lemon, thus putting 2015 firmly into the dystopia category.)
- In Germany, TNT is showing it at 8.15pm, again as part of the trilogy.
And for those of you who love the movie theater, it’s playing, well, pretty much everywhere. The win of the day goes to the AMC chain which has scheduled a host of local showings at precisely 4.29pm, the time at which Marty made his arrival.
