While there’s no shortage of video game-themed action figures to collect, you’re normally stuck with the manufacturer’s design and pose. Amazon hopes to change that with a range of customizable figures using 3D printing.

The service involves tie-ups with 3D printing company Sandboxr and the makers of Infinity Blade, Primal Carnage and Smite. After choosing your character you can choose a range of customization options.

For example, if you want a small figure of Thor from Smite you can choose from eight bases and nine poses. Opt for from Infinity Blade and you get more options, covering poses plus armor, helmet and weapon selections. All in all, Amazon calculates the range of potential unique models ranges from 12,500 for Primal Carnage to 12 million for Infinity Blade.

After making your selection you can view a rotatable graphic of the design before ordering. It’s then printed and shipped, with the foam packaging also cut to leave a hole that matches the specific design you’ve chosen.

The figures cost $29.99, $49.99 and $89.99 depending on whether you opt for a small (four inch), medium (five inch) or large (six inch) version. None of the other customization options affect the price.

The makers say that even with the customization, the figures are still true to the game. Both the customization display and the printing files are taken from the original design files used in the games themselves.
