I’d wager that any Monty Python worth his/her salt can tell you where the “Galaxy Song” is from.
(HINT: It’s from the 1988 movie “The Meaning of Life.”)
The song later appeared on the 1989 album “Monty Python Sings.”
It also happens to be the title track to “Monty Python: The Meaning of Live,” a 90-minute documentary that spans the history of MP and the careers of its members.
But enough of the song’s history.
In honor of Record Store Day, coming up on April 18, Prof. Stephen Hawking agreed to lend his electronic voice for a cover of the song. Only 1,000 physical records have been made featuring the song, but you can download a digital version on iTunes.
