Samurai Jack was one of the greatest cartoons ever made. This is not a question or a discussion. This is a solid fact. From the animation style to the brilliant, time-spanning story line, nothing about the show wasn’t exceptional. That fact alone should be enough to sell you on the new IDW Samurai Jack comic book adaptation that furthers the story of this beloved swordsman lost in time and space. If you need more convincing, check out this review of the series from ComicsAlliance.
If you sit down and read the first fifteen issues of the ongoing series, you’ll see how well they come together as one vast, epic story that takes Jack in every possible direction — just like the show.
“Epic” is a word that gets tossed around a lot, but Samurai Jack lives up to it. It’s a vast adventure that works on multiple levels, and if you haven’t been reading the series, it’s absolutely worth catching up.
Essentially, the IDW comic book is the next season of the show we never got. If you were ever a fan of this stellar show, you owe it to yourself to pick up the equally stellar comic book.
