Halloween with its candy treats is gone, the gift giving frenzy of Christmas has passed, and we’ve awoken from our Peep and Cadbury egg induced chocolate comas to the springtime desert of the holiday season… or have we?  Fellow geeks, it’s time to celebrate our roots, with free comic book day!

If you haven’t heard of Free Comic book day, since 2002 comic book  publishers distributors and retails have worked together to bring a selection of free comic books to the public to draw the attention of e-fanatics and digital enthusiasts to the wonderful world of comic books.

Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. *Check with your local comic book shop for their participation and rules.

So Geeks and Geekettes go and support your local comic book store and visit them on this free comic book day. Find a participating Comic book store!
