Superhero-ing (or supervillain-ing) isn’t all fun and games!
It takes a lot of work – and paperwork – to rescue fair maidens or kidnap the mayor’s daughter or heck, just to keep the day-to-day operations running!
Jonathan Strickland, writer and podcaster for HowStuffWorks.com, has created a new series aimed at showing the “other side” of caped crusading (and dastardly deed-doing) called “Mildly Exciting Tales of Astonishment” (META).
Through a Kickstarter campaign, he hopes to film 16 episodes in which “we follow the misadventures of a group of heroes called the Freedom Five as they deal with the absurd, mundane tasks that plague us all. In META, you’ll learn how heroes must be conscious of their branding, why it’s not the best idea to build your secret lair under the subway system, what happens when a super mom has to find a decent daycare facility, and what it takes to interview for the position of henchman.”
