Geek out in Melbourne at the end of June

If you’re down-under, get yourself to Melbourne at the end of June this year because there’s not one, but two awesome events you’re going to want to attend.

First up is the Game Masters exhibition at ACMI (the Australian Centre for the Moving Image). With a venue renowned for awesome exhibitions, you can be sure for a fun ride. The Game Masters exhibition will have you gamers salivating with over 125 playable games celebrating the world’s most influential videogame designers.

Check out this teaser, with the “Gods of Gaming”:

The good news is, even if you can’t make it at the end of June you’ve got four whole months to get down here – the exhibition goes from the 28th of June through to the 28th of October. Tickets are $22 Full and $17.50 Concession (and a few other special deals for groups, families, schools and members).

The second awesome event this winter is the Oz Comic Con! Held at the immense Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the event will feature huge actors like Jason Momoa, Mitch Pileggi, Patrick Stewart, Sean Maher, Julie Benz, Ryan Robbins and so many more! Not to mention Stan freaking Lee:

Can you tell I’m excited?

I hope to expect a surge of Aussie cosplay madness over the first weeks of July as eager comic goers start uploading their epic times.

If you’re down here, it’s happening on 30th June and 1st July 2012 and tickets are $20 Adult / $10 Child (5 to 12) for single entry, weekend passes are $35/$17.50 respectively.

So if you’re down under (or even if you’re not) get down here because it’s gonna be awesome.
